Life after college and at your first job is exactly what they say it will be like.
The days go slow, and weeks go fast. Your social circle reduces to a whopping three people who like the same food as you and will eat out so long as it doesn’t go past their bedtime. You read the news obsessively because it’s the only drama and entertainment in your life. The few events you attend are the monthly weddings of friends whom you don’t talk to anymore but still feel obligated to invite you. You kind of like your job, but prefer maybe a more stimulating and advanced version of it. So you grad school hunt during your work hours instead of just doing your job well.
Which is a predicament in itself. Business? Journalism? Communications? Marketing? Public Relations? Croissants with an emphasis in Chocolate? Hehe.
Either way, I need to stop updating my twitter so often and start blogging more. I feel like my ability to write will be reduced to 140 charactered one-liners, which is the direction that media and communication is going in. Digital and bite-sized. But I shall fight for bloggers, writers, print journalists, novelists, run-on sentences, descriptive writing, and creative voices!
Or I should just be cool and keep twittering.

That’s why I made the switch from computers to childcare. Sure, the pay is about a third of what it was… but I’m spending my days so busy that I can’t even think, instead of sitting online, wishing I was somewhere else.

Everything you wrote, I went through. Then comes the part when you move from the 18-24 demographic to 25-34. That’s a real doozy that I haven’t quite figured out yet.

Haha, I’m doubling my time right now in computers AND childcare. Everytime sentiments of regret come around, I try to just suck it up and say, “One year. It’ll be worth it.”

I know this is way late, but oh well. I just have to say that Russell is really right about the jump at 25-notsureyet. You don’t expect that one, but it hits you in the face.
