TIME asked 1,000 Americans how they were doing the past few months of this recession.

20% have not filled a medical prescription because of the cost
24% have not gone to the doctor
21% have gone without health insurance
24% postponed or canceled a medical or dental procedure
21% have been unemployed not by choice
40% are feeling nervous or anxious
32% have difficulty sleeping
28% have trouble concentrating on things

There are some good things too. I just chose these to match my mood.
